The Cathedral Commons project proposal sparked a 20+ year battle, becoming the ‘epicenter of redevelopment politics.’ Once engaged, S-WD created the necessary consensus and full approvals in less than 2 years. From this strong foundation, all four filters were deployed to deliver an environment that ultimately received numerous NAHB’s 'Best In American Living' awards.

As Managing General Partner, S-WD’s involvement with Blue Back Square began with the acquisition of a vacant car dealership and incorporating its development potential with adjacent underperforming properties and Town-owned facilities.
The resulting development effectively doubled the size of West Hartford's previously vulnerable downtown and has become a national model for place-based urban revitalization.
